There are places where the landscape becomes a story. The Comborço Lookout is one of those places.
From this vantage point, the eye wanders across a vast horizon, following the valleys of the Vila Chã and Cortiçô streams until it encounters, in the distance, the majestic Serra da Estrela. On the horizon, some of its highest peaks stand out—Penha dos Prados, Santinha, and Penha dos Abutres—while to the south, Monte do Colcurinho rises in the Serra do Açor.
At our feet, the landscape reveals another dimension: a vast, flat expanse, carved out by the Mondego River and its tributaries, forming the Mondego Plateau.
More than just a lookout point, Comborço is a place to stop, contemplate, and take in the vastness of the landscape. It is a place where mountains, valleys, and rivers come together in a scene that spans generations and reveals the power and beauty of nature.
Part of the Estrela Geopark, the Comborço Lookout invites you to discover the area with fresh eyes—at a slower pace, closer to nature, and always with a horizon to reach.
